LUCAS/HEAVEN
Lucas Gorham aka Lucas/Heaven has long been a fixture in the electronic music movement and beat scene community. Creating electronic jazz fusion sounds, he’s worked with Fat Tony and Dent May, featured on Khruangbin’s BBC6 playlist, and as a KCRW Top Tune. On his new album, Blues of the World, Slide guitar and sick bars have never sounded so good together combined with striking honesty, desperation, and optimism, built from Gorham’s decades-long journey to finding his most authentic self in music.
TOLLIVER
Taking cues from some of the great funkmeisters — Bootsy Collins, Rick James, and Sylvester (to name a few) — LA’s Tolliver is the shimmering sequin-loving son of a cowboy-obsessed pastor and a gospel choir singer. He’s a singer, journalist, actor, host and curator of the multimedia Exotic Fruits Festival. His new release “Booyabaze” was named a KCRW Top Tune of the Week and is “the song we all need” according to Anne Litt, KCRW's Program Director of Music.
